| Description: | This committee distributes bagels and juice to 3rd and 4th Grade children before school starts during the week they have NJ ASK testing. |

| Beautification Committee | ||

| Description: | The Beautification Committee is responsible for maintaining the PTO Bulletin Board located in the front hallway of Bayberry School. |

| Book Fair - Bayberry | ||
| Chair: | Kim DiDonato, Lisa Irving, and Kim Nunn | |
| Description: | The PTO hosts a Book Fair at Bayberry in the spring. The Book Fair provides the opportunity for students and parents to purchase book and other items. The PTO receives a portion of the total sales at the Fair. Volunteers assist in the planning, setting up, and staffing the Fair. There are evening hours. |

| Description: | The PTO hosts a Book Fair at Valley View in the spring. The Book Fair provides the opportunity for students and parents to purchase book and other items. The PTO receives a portion of the total sales at the Fair. Volunteers assist in the planning, setting up, and staffing the Fair. There are evening hours. |

| Box Tops/Consumer Products | ||

| Description: | This committee collects box tops and coke rewards to submit to cooperations for their matching school gifts, as well as encourages all members to enter into other matching school gift programs, such as Stop and Shops. | |
| Bus Chaperones | ||
| Chair: | Christine Listorti and Kristin Rizzi | |
| Description: | The PTO is committed to placing a parent on each of the Bayberry School buses for both the morning and afternoon routes during the first few days of school. The PTO provides this service to parents of young students to ease the transition into the school routine. Volunteers agree to ride their child's bus route either in the morning or afternoon, or both. We have routinely scheduled chaperones for the first 5 days of school. Volunteers can ride as many of those days as is possible. |

| Bus Driver Appreciation | ||

| Description: | The Bus Driver Appreciation Committee plans and coordinates gifts for the bus drivers and custodians of both Bayberry and Valley View. They also host a breakfast at Bayberry for the Bus Drivers and a "lunch/dinner" for the custodians around 2:30. The Committee's work occurs primarily in late Winter with "appreciation" usually occuring in late March. |

| Food Sale - Bayberry | ||

| Description: | This committee manages the ordering and distribution of the lunches at Bayberry School. Volunteers are needed to serve between 11:20am and 1:10pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays | |
| Food Sale - Valley View | ||

| Description: | This committee manages the ordering and distribution of the lunches at Valley View School, as well as stocking the kitchen with snacks, drinks, and ice cream for the food sales. *Additional volunteers are needed to distribute lunches between 10:30am and 12:00pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays |

| Description: | The Fundraising Committee coordinates and oversees all fundraising activities of the PTO. The Committee meets to set annual goals and to create a schedule of fundraising events. Meetings throughout the year occur to assess fundraising events as they happen and to make necessary adjustments to the annual fundraising plan. Meetings occur primarily during the day, but input via electronic means is welcomed. | |
| Gift Wrap | ||

| Description: | The Gift Wrap committee operates one of the PTO's largest fundraisers, the sale of gift wrap and other items through an outside vendor. The Gift Wrap Sale occurs at both schools during the first month of the school year. Volunteers are needed to assist in assembling and submitting orders and in sorting and packaging the products for distribution. Evening Volunteer hours are possible during the sorting and distribution phase of the project. |

| Description: | The PTO hosts a Holiday Boutique at Bayberry to provide students and parents an opportunity to purchase gifts for the winter holidays. The Boutiques typically occur in late November to early December. Volunteers assist in booking vendors, setting up the Boutique rooms, and staffing the sale. There are evening hours. |

| Description: | This committee plans the family Ice Cream Social in September. Lots of fun with make-your-own sundaes! A great night out for the whole family. Volunteers are needed to help collect order forms, purchase the material, and set-up and serve on the night of the event. |

| Description: | Library volunteers assist the Library Media Specialist by helping with various clerical and organizational activities within the library. Volunteers are assigned during school hours only, but can be flexible with which days and times they are assigned. | |
| Nominating Committee | ||

| Description: | The Nominating Committee meets in May to nominate a slate of officers for the PTO Executive Board. The Committee consists of three Executive Board members and two PTO General Members. Members of the Committee should attend PTO meetings throughout the year so they have an understanding of the contributions made by various volunteers. | |
| Picture Day - Bayberry | ||

| Description: | The Picture Day committee helps the children look their best for their class pictures. The volunteers make sure mouths are cleaned and hair is out their eyes. The volunteers work the day the pictures are taken, typically two days in October and one day in April |

| Plant Sale | ||

| Description: | The Plant Sale Committee coordinates and operates a Plant Sale in early May at both schools. Using an outside vendor, plants are brought into the schools for purchase by students and parents. Volunteers are needed to assist in unloading the plant deliveries, setting up the sale rooms,a nd staffing the sales. Evening hours are offered at both schools. | |
| PTO Meeting Refreshments | ||

| Description: | This committee coordinates and provides coffee and refreshments for our PTO meetings. Volunteers typically provide baked goods and assist in set-up and clean-up before and after our morning meetings. | |
| Scholarship | ||

| Description: | The Scholarship Committee is responsible for reviewing applications for and selecting winners of the Suzanne L. Kenney Memorial Scholarship, an on-going scholarship funded by the PTO and presented to a Watchung Senior at Watchung Hills Regional High School. The Committee receives and reviews applications beginning in March, continuing in April and May and awards the scholarship at the WHRHS Awards Assembly in mid-June. | |
| Scrip Gift Card | ||

| Description: | The word "scrip" means substitute money. For this fundraiser, you are purchasing scrip in the form of gift cards and certificates from national and local retailers. This committee helps with advertising Scrip as well as collecting, reconciling, sorting, and distributing Scrip Orders. Volunteers also help to create and distribute flyers and help with scrip sales at school events. | |
| Soup Supper | ||

| Description: | This Committee helps plan and coordinate a family Soup and Chili contest to be help in late January/early February. There is a nominal charge and everyone is invited to enter a soup or chili to be eaten and judged by all who attend with small prizes awarded at the end of the evening. After school volunteers are needed the afternoon and evening of the event. | |
| Spring Social | ||

| Description: | Each year, the PTO hosts a "parents only" social event in the Spring for the Watchung Schools community. This event provides an opportunity for parents to meet each other and socialize outside the school setting. In the past, events have included a Dinner Dance, a Casino Night, a Cocktail party, and a Beer and Wine Tasting. The Spring Social committee helps plan, set themes, coordinate auction items, decorate, and perform various other activities for these events. Volunteer hours vary year to year but are typically very flexible. |

| Description: | The Teacher / Staff Appreciation Committee plans and coordinates gifts and typically hosts a breakfast for the faculty at Bayberry and arranges for lunch to be brought in for the Staff of both Bayberry and Valley View. The Committee's work occurs primarily in the spring and culminates with Administrative Assistants Day at the end of April and Teacher Appreciation Week in early May. | |
| Teacher/Staff Luncheon | ||

| Description: | The PTO membership provides a lavish luncheon for the combined faculties and administration of both of our schools on the last day of the school year. The Teacher Luncheon Committee is charged with coordinating this enormous effort. The Committee determines the theme and menu for the luncheon and coordinates Volunteers to prepare the food, decorate the room, serve during the luncheon, and clean up afterward. The Committee also creates a cookbook for the event. Volunteers can plan their time commitments according the the various needs of the Committee. |
